By Peg Riemer, Wisconsin on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 07:25 am: We had ice in Wisconsin, too, with the storms this week. The chickadees usually look no worse for the wear, but this morning here's one was having an especially bad hair day. By Charlie at Pasty Central on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 07:34 am: Thanks, Peggy, for capping off another 7 days of the Pasty Cam, which will be remembered as "Ice Week". And thanks to all the contributors of this week's frigid photos, especially Dan Urbanski who walks away with another WOW.
By Rose, Channahon, IL on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 08:16 am: Peggy, those Chickadees were so cute I had to put them on my "Walpaper"! I have been practicing bird photography with my new camcorder! It's lots of fun. I really enjoy this site of my beloved Keweenaw! Can't wait to return this summer. By Alicia on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 10:03 am:
Peg, By Sam/Bama on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 10:20 am:
You mean they don't stay all winter ? By Greta, Milwaukee on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 11:10 am: Hey, to all the Yooper Finn-glish speakers -- Happy St Urho's Day. Do that Urho dance with pride! By Nancy, PA on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 11:29 am: Here I was, trying to send my kids a reminder that they're at least a little bit Irish, when I remembered that they're a whole lot more Finnish. Happy St. Urho's day, everyone. Forget the green--go for purple! By Bee..Sarasota. FL on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 01:07 pm: My favorite little feathered friend...delightful pictures....as usual! Many thanks! Bee By pat/florida on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 01:47 pm: here in Punta Gorda, on St. Urho's Day, we invite family and friends to come join us in flying kites and feasting on "grasshopper" or Key Lime pie. our "dress" for the day: purple and green swimsuits! thanks to my michigan daughter-in-law, Ginger, for introducing me to this fine page. By Marge--TX on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 06:47 pm: How appropriate and fun! The chickadee is my favorite bird. The plucky little creatures do stay ALL winter and sing their cheerful little song too. It was 90 degrees in the shade here in Donna, TX today with the orange blossoms and wisteria perfuming the air. But, I miss my fluffy little feathery friends. Thanks!! By Lyn on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 06:54 pm: Looks as though the chick is a little camera shy in the first photo. I have noticed many at my bird feeder in the past month. By Nancy Nelson, WI on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 07:47 pm: Great shots. Never saw one look as scruffy as the second shot--too appealing! By Ken from da UP on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 11:13 pm:
I've been watching and feeding these little guys for years here. They sure are tame and 'talkative'. They sit on a branch just inches from the feeder while I'm refilling it and when I step away they chirp just like they're saying "Thank you!" They really are neat, they should be the Michigan state bird. Pytavay, a very Happy St. Urho's Day to all!! Just got home from the Ishpeming Elk's St. Urho's Day Dance. A good time was had by all. Art Moilanen and his Mrs. won the costume contest. :o) We'll be playing again there in two weeks for Suomi By Michele Anderson on Sunday, March 17, 2002 - 01:03 am: Those Chickadee photos are really great! Thanks, Peg, and thanks to Charlie for sharing the Pasty Cam with www.keweenawnow.com. By Marcel De Vaux on Tuesday, April 30, 2002 - 04:21 pm: I would like to contact some of my old friends in Donna Texas that I knew many years ago...I went to Donna High school from 1936 to 1939....Marcel De Vaux....E-Mail kaymarc@mindspring.com |
