It's a long, exciting ride from Hancock to Copper Harbor via snowmobile. Be prepared for a full day, with some interesting stops along the way. You'll want to spend some time at the scenic turnout above Copper Harbor. Tami Pekkala snapped the shot above when her expedition from Flint paused to enjoy the view.

This is one of our favorite spots in July to watch the Copper Harbor fireworks:

as seen in the PC2002 calendar
By the way, this shot appears in our full size Pasty Cam 2002 calendar, and we still have a few left if you would like one. Even though the year is only 1/12 gone, the calendar is available for 1/3 off the regular price, over at our pasty order page. You can have it with or without pasties... and get an official Yooper calendar while you're at it.

This one really gets me homesick - especially in the winter - overlooking Copper Harbor - Only 3 weeks till I shall return to the Keweenaw to take in the sights off of the main trails which makes for the best riding. Should be 10 or 11 of us this year.

It makes me REALLY homesick - the rider's helmet is blocking the view of my house...

Thank you, thank you! This picture is so real I can smell it! My son was about the same size as this young rider when he had his very first snowmobile trip right there. Nothing like a ride up Brockway followed by a nice hot galley sandwich and a cold beer - er - pop at the Mariner North! Can almost taste it. Can't wait for the next trip! Hello to Sharon S, hope you are feeling well. Love to check your cam on your website to see the ice movement in the harbor. Sure looks strange to see no ice this time of year.

To Sharon S- sorry about Colins helmet! The boys sure had a great time that weekend. Thanks again to Charlie for posting the pic. I check it every day to see the beautiful photos. It's not quite so pretty here in Flint.(ha).

Hey...I was a Harbor Rat one winter! I remember riding the Mountain on the night of a full moon. What a gorgeous site it was. Just a beautiful evening! So many stars that the sky was almost on fire, the full moon that was so huge, and the top of Brockway....just us and God.

No fair. It's 80 degrees here in Gainesville, Florida. The azaleas are blooming. The view reminds me of the day Cougar and I decided to enter in the ski race over Brockway Mt. I about died - well, maybe not death itself, but for someone who only skiied for fun once in awhile, it was an adventure. Wish I was overlooking the Harbor right now. Great photo.

As a former "Yooper", I miss all the splenders of winter in the U.P. I now reside in Huntsville, Alabama where it was 77 degrees today.

It sure makes me homesick looking at my "home"! I grew up in the west end of Copper Harbor. Last year, they cut a few trees looking more directly north from where this picture was taken, and now you can see the attic window and some of the roof of our house. I'll be helping my mom at Bergh's Resort there this summer. I can't wait to be home again. Even though I live in Indiana now, Copper Harbor will always be "home."

There is no where else I'd rather be to watch the 4th of July fireworks either! Last year we had about 35 friends with their lawn chairs on the dock and in the back yard to watch the fireworks show. One year, a bear joined us briefly, walking through the back yard between the water and the house!

By the way, Charlie, nice placement of the Pasty Cam logo. It looks like you're sponsoring Colin!

Speaking of Copper Harbor, one of the many interesting U.P. websites hosted here at Pasty Central is CopperHarbor.org. Check out their new updated look, courtesy of Alex Protzel, whose images from the tip of the Keweenaw appear on the Pasty Cam from time to time.

Thank you for the awesome photo of my most favorite place. We have a log cabin on the water in Copper Harbor...if the camera person panned a little more to the left, I could see it! Oh, how I wish I was there now with all the snow!!! We watch the fireworks from our deck and dock in July. This picture sure makes me lonesome for home.
