On of my favorite spots in the Keweenaw is Fort Wilkins. In this shot you can barely see the barracks in the middle to the far right. In case you missed yesterday, Paul Charlesworth and Debra Wright gave us a view from that porch, as well as a classic pose by the cannon. By Mary Coleman Niles, MI on Saturday, January 27, 2001 - 07:46 pm: It's been many years since I have been to Ft. Wilkins. The last time I camped ther I was chased to town by a cloud of black flies. I pedaled that bike as fast as I could go to try and lose them. What fond memories. Have to go back. Love this site. Check it every day. By Barbara, TX on Saturday, January 27, 2001 - 08:20 pm: Would love to have a Screen Saver of these great spots. By Paul, Houghton, MI on Saturday, January 27, 2001 - 09:41 pm: I use a free program called WebShots (www.webshots.com) to create a Pasty Cam and Personal revolving WallPaper and ScreenSaver. Its pretty cool. It will scale images, but I like to create them as 800 x 600 for better image quality. It's a Windoze program, I dont use screen savers on the Mac and Apple has a built-in revolving desktop picture. By Taliesin on Saturday, January 27, 2001 - 10:37 pm: The brown-doored barracks to the right I can clearly make out, but what of that parallel-barred structure at stream's end? A highway bridge? A lost Frank Lloyd Wright "Falling Water" house we haven't yet heard of? By Paul, Houghton, MI on Saturday, January 27, 2001 - 10:46 pm: That is the Road from Copper Harbor to Miami, FL. By Cathy, Wheaton, IL on Sunday, January 28, 2001 - 08:11 am: A screen saver collection of shots from your archives would be wonderful. Several years ago when I was in Houghton I bought a screen saver collection of shots from the U.P. from one of the stores. Everyone who sees it wants to borrow the CD. There are 20 beautiful U.P. shots on it. Go for it! By Art, Chassell on Sunday, January 28, 2001 - 08:29 am: Shouldn't this be Creek from Fanny Hooe?????? Ahh! By Beth, Livonia, MI on Monday, January 29, 2001 - 01:12 pm: I wish I had a scene like that around my house. All I have is a polluted creek and dirty brown snow. By john Graham on Monday, January 29, 2001 - 01:15 pm:
