By Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Sunday, July 18, 2010 - 08:11 am:
Most Sunday's here at Pasty Central we feature a Shoebox Memory from the past 100+ years in the U.P. But today we just relax and enjoy the sun and fun from a much more recent photo by Dorothy Jamison. Our thanks to all the kids for dressing up in dirt to give us all a smile. By Richard L. Barclay (Notroll) on Sunday, July 18, 2010 - 08:21 am: I'm sure these pictures will start a whole lot of shoebox memories playing in geezer minds all over the country. I remember being there, especially after too long a stay in the big lake. I think I'd have to color myself with blue lips and fingernails from the cold as well as the sepia overall of times past. By RD, Iowa (Rdiowa) on Sunday, July 18, 2010 - 08:30 am: Not as cold as these guys, I bet.
By Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Sunday, July 18, 2010 - 08:35 am: I guess the Pasty Cam has captured kids who like to snuggle the earth in just about every season :o)
By Donna (Donna) on Sunday, July 18, 2010 - 08:45 am: Oh wow....how phenomenal! GREAT pictures everyone! By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Sunday, July 18, 2010 - 09:08 am: I remember doing all that, too (buried in sand and leaves, at least). By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Sunday, July 18, 2010 - 09:42 am: Fun pictures!! Glad to see the children are lying down in the sand and not buried standing up as it first appeared as the top photo was opening up.:) And yeah, Richard (Notroll), I imagine that warm sand feels good after a dip in the lake!brrrrr By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, July 18, 2010 - 10:18 am: How fun!!!! They all look like they're having a blast! Good for them! By kay Moore (Mskatie) on Sunday, July 18, 2010 - 10:43 am: Isn't it wonderful that there are kids who know how to have (non-electronic)fun. And such good memories for later. By Helen Marie Chamberlain (Helen) on Sunday, July 18, 2010 - 11:54 am: Oh, how well I remember doing this as a young girl...burying in the sand, leaves, and snow..think it was a "throwback" to being in the "womb". Wonderful pictures, thanks! By Paul H. Meier (Paul) on Sunday, July 18, 2010 - 02:04 pm:
Re: Day in History By Uncle Chuck at Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Sunday, July 18, 2010 - 04:55 pm: I remember those good times too! By Cindy, New Baltimore, MI (Cindy) on Sunday, July 18, 2010 - 07:07 pm: Love the pics! Remember being that free and only having to think about doing something fun on a hot summer day? I can almost hear the giggles. | ||
