Living in the U.P., we sometimes take for granted the beauty surrounding us each and every day. Then one day you're out and about and you see an Eagle slowly circling and soaring above you, like Matt Griffith did recently. Or you spot one perched in a tree, surveying the land below. But I think perhaps Matt's third photo is the one that really makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. Catching a photo of young eagles in the nest isn't as common a sight, so when you do happen upon a scene like this one, be sure to stop and savor the beauty of nature, here UP North.

Beautiful eagle pics! Anyone remember that song from 1977 with the line, "I want to fly like an eagle..."

After the day I've had at work, I'm reminded of the old saying "It's hard to soar like an eagle when you work with a bunch of turkeys"!! J

Keeping a close eye on the Gulf as Alex makes up its mind where it wants to make landfall. Doesn't look like we'll get much of it, just some heavy rain and a stiff east breeze the next couple days....
