I'd like to send a special thanks to the folks who helped me with the Date Cookie recipe. I made them yesterday for my family, and they were a big hit. Here near Portland, OR we had a rare snowfall and cold weather. Sitting in the chair with a date cookie watching it snow, well, it was almost like being home. Thanks very much.

Richard, after sending you my version of the cookie recipe it made me hanker for some too. Going to get some dates and make a batch real soon. I'll make a cookie toast to Grandma Slattery with one and down a cup ot tea. But there's no way I'm going out these next few days for dates. Gonna be near 0 degrees or less tonight, and another snowfall tomorrow afternoon. The cookies will have to wait. Did your girls like the cookies too?
