The first thing that came to mind was the episode with Tom Sawyer letting his friends paint the fence. What a great idea to move out that surplus snow... give it away! By k j (Kathiscc) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 08:01 am: By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 08:10 am: That is the cutest picture. Thanks for the laugh! By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 08:29 am: That's funny! It has to hit me just right for me to laugh out loud early in the morning. :-) We may have some of our own here in Trollville, tomorrow morning. Thank you, Marc Norton and Charlie. By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 08:36 am: I love the Yooper ingenuity! Instead of "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade" it is "when life gives you snow, make snowmen!" By Lisa Walters (Ypsilisa) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 08:37 am: Well duh, I didn't realize the Pasty Cameo changed every day! Any plan to put all of them on a DVD? I'd buy a couple!! :) By kay Moore (Mskatie) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 08:44 am: What better way to start the day than with a loud smile. Thanks again. And top o' the morning to everyone this wintery day. By k j (Kathiscc) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 09:09 am:
Does anyone know when the first "Big Picture" appeared on the Pasty Cam? I'll give you a hint: It was toward the end of the first year, and it had to do with snow (what a surprise). By k j (Kathiscc) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 09:13 am: By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 09:22 am: We bought some "fish-head" style can coolers at that gift shop while vacationing in Copper Harbor! By David t Hainault (Davehainault) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 09:37 am: Gooooooood Mmmmmornin", Keweenaw!!! Let me know if there are any takers on the sign, eh! Today, I'm going to borow my neighbor's backhoe to move some of the snow from my front yard, so the pix was PERFECT!! Now all I've got to do is dress for the -9 temp, and boil some coffee. Thanks, Charlie, and GREAT DAY everyone! By Debra J. McCumber (Debwaugh) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 09:57 am: By JoAnne, Washington State (Davejostef) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 10:12 am: Wasn't that first picture of the snow thermometer? That's my guess. By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 10:55 am: Cute...now if we could just figure out a way to sell it. By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 11:04 am: Any takers for that are welcome to my front yard, not too many places to put snow and I can't see very well getting out so time to hack it down some. I saw a sign the other day but don't remember where that simply said "No snow", they were unsuccessful since there was plenty in the yard. By David Hiltunen (Davidcorrytontn) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 12:51 pm: What a great Sale's person it would take to sell it to the Eskimo's for Igloo's and refrigerators. By Snowman (Snowman) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 03:21 pm: Hey, I could use a few poker buddies. By Kathy P. (Katiaire) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 03:34 pm: My first thought was: I hope that doesn't mean our Snowman. By k j (Kathiscc) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 05:10 pm: Charlie- Did we guess when the first big picture appeared on Pasty? By Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 05:38 pm:
That's right kj, besides the early bird today you also won the trivia question. Stay up late for the night owl and you'll have a hat trick. By Snowman (Snowman) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 06:06 pm: kj, go for it! Maybe the prize is a free pasty. By Tim Holland (Tholland) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 08:09 pm: Big snow is inconvenient for commuting and needing to shovel, but it's preferable to other severe weather, such as tornadoes. I moved from Michigan to Tennessee last year and it's "Here we go again" with the tornado warnings. Today makes the third time in the last month that we've had tornado warnings. The yoopers may have their big snow, but at least they rarely need to worry about a tornado hitting in the middle of the night. I'll take the snow any day. This evening's Tennessee festivities include tornadoes scheduled to roll through during sleeping hours. Wisconsin is supposed to get 20 inches of snow tonight, but that's party time compared to sudden tornadoes at night. By k j (Kathiscc) on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 - 10:05 pm:
Thanks Charlie. By David t Hainault (Davehainault) on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 - 12:07 am: Tim Holland, you're very right about the different weather problems we face each day, week, season. I'm not saying that the cold and snow is comfortable, they can both be as lethal as any other situation Mother Nature might serve up on any given day. However, compared with hurricanes that rip entire communities from their foundations, tornados that do the same on a much more concentrated level, and Tsumanis that wash towns from their beachfront economic bases; snow is more or less God's way of telling us all to slow down. Even here in Colorado, I guess I wouldn't trade. Good luck tonight. God bless; may you all stay safe and rest well. By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 - 08:17 am: Tim, I'm with ya. My Mom moved to Tennesse 10 years ago and has not convinced me to go, I like our boring weather here. So what it snows? No Tornados, earthquakes, hurricanes... |
