I recognize 3 of these Still Waters residents: (L-R) Linnea Filpus, Elaine Kallio, and Esther Korpi. Looks like another next to Linnea that I can't make out. The Pasty Cam caption 8 years ago today simply said, "Some of our ladies at Still Waters Elders Home in Calumet enjoy the morning sunshine". I wish now that I had identified them all in the photo.

where is Mikie? Off pouting because he had to share his award?!! It's going to tak me some time to decide what kind of meal I want from him. Any suggestions girls? LOL He's such a great chef, I can't let him get off easy can I? Maybe you gals can join me in the big feast!! By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Thursday, May 25, 2006 - 10:32 am: Congratulations Tim, I spoke to Ron Howard and just hung up from talking to Tom, I nixed him playing me and think it should be Robert Redford. I was thinking of Farah to play Precious, and Jamie Lee Curtis to play Cotton. It will include a scene of us having dinner at the Hut and will have Bob, what Redford ask his friends to call him, munching on a Pasty and commenting on how good they are. I have to leave now to put my tent up at the Feast in Port Huron but will be back at about three. Have a great day, sunny and warm. By JanieT (Bobbysgirl) on Thursday, May 25, 2006 - 11:05 am: Break a leg Mikie! You know the showbiz lingo. By Betty Paull Colborn,AZ (Betty) on Thursday, May 25, 2006 - 12:54 pm:

Mikie has already been on TV...... Rememeber those Life cereal commercials from the 70's?? By Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Thursday, May 25, 2006 - 02:30 pm:
Jay Fedorocko sent me this picture of a newborn fawn along with a story about his discovering it!
By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Thursday, May 25, 2006 - 04:03 pm: Capt. Paul,The Mikie that you are refering to is quite a bit younger then I. I am a little more choosey of the food that I eat. Plain cereal, ugh if I eat it I use yogurt instead of milk, and try to stay away from that type of processed food, remember the ego has to eat also, breakfast around here can consist of fried Spam, hashbrowns, and eggs. Or possably fried bologna, fried baked potatoe, and eggs. But never ever Life cereal. I was in several Chrysler ads during the late seventies, when they filmed them in my plant. At the time my brother in law was the news director at channel seven in Detroit. So I am not new to the film industry. I also have been on the History channel in the story of the French and Indian war and also in the Washington bio. Last year I was Ben Franklin in several reenactments. So you are dealing with a minor star. Don't think that yesterdays award wont go into my bio even if I had decided to share it with Cotton. Even though my parts were small, remember their are no small parts, only small actors, or something like that. By JanieT (Bobbysgirl) on Thursday, May 25, 2006 - 05:58 pm: Enjoyed the fawn story! Life is good on the farm, I couldn't and wouldn't live anywhere else. By Downstatedon (Downstatedon) on Thursday, May 25, 2006 - 06:23 pm:
I will be heading to the Upper Peninsula this By Margaret, Amarillo TX (Margaret) on Thursday, May 25, 2006 - 07:14 pm: Didn't get this quite in before dawn today. Graduation at the old work place. Total for year was 62 graduates and it was 23 of them today. We had disturbing news from one of the grads: Zachary's best friend killed himself yesterday evening and he died last night. Needless to say, I was up 'til 2 a.m. talking with kids and parents. But the graduation was good. Time moves forward. Summer school begins Tuesday. By tom ghering (Tomgheringtcmi) on Thursday, May 25, 2006 - 08:28 pm: for downstatedon........here is a good website for State travel http://www.michigan.gov/mdot/0,1607,7-151-9621_11008-112453--,00.html By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Thursday, May 25, 2006 - 10:11 pm: By Downstatedon (Downstatedon) on Thursday, May 25, 2006 - 10:34 pm:

Mikie; Everyone has taken cover from the storms. By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Thursday, May 25, 2006 - 10:58 pm: I am a Yooper and I challenge the lighting by standing out in the pasture [back yard] waving my sword in the air and nothing happens. The rain flows off my freshly shaved head and puddles at my feet. Rain storms, lightning, something for a true Yooper to show disdain for. So all you brave lads and lasses come and join me in the lighting challenge dance. It works something like the snow dance in the winter. Instead of Heiki Luta [sp] we have the Pipere of French Canadian lore. By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Thursday, May 25, 2006 - 11:02 pm: Deb, Have a safe trip, and if I have a recipe I can make anything. Marsha, You have my condolonces. Lost both of my parents a few years ago and still miss both of them. By Arlene Jill Murphy (Capemom8741) on Friday, May 26, 2006 - 12:23 am: Jay... What a beautiful new creature you welcomed into this world! And to think you captured this joyful event on Creekside Farm. Thank you for sharing your delightful story and photograph. You always present the best of nature. |
